In early life Willard Richards was looking for a religion more satisfying than the gospel he sustained. A humble Mormon Missionary gave him a Book of Mormon which he read through twice in a few days. It converted him and he joined the Church. He became an assistant to the Provisional State Secretary and performed much of the labor of that office. He became proprietor and editor of the Deseret News; and second counselor to President Brigham Young. What a triumvirate: Brigham Young, Heber C. Kimball, and Willard Richards! And what a line of ancestors you children have!
