s/o Robert & Hannah (Robinson) Knowlton; 1st Knowlton in Ashford, Conn. Source: Larry Languille, Port George, BC.lineage: Robert, Thomas, John, John, William Source: Barry Weaver Barrington, RI. from Ashford, CN to Onslow and Sackville, NS.Of the Boston Milita. He came to Nova Scotia just before the revolionary war, and settled in Halfway River. He was a Lt. in the British army. In 1745 he fought at Louisburg, Cape Brenton, under Col. Scott and received the land grant along with
Col. Joseph Scott, Richard Upham and fifty others (26000 acres) 309 people settled at Onslow Township, (Halfway River) for his service. In 1759, his wife died and the crops failed. He m/2 1762, Col. Joseph Scott's widow, Mary,(b1726). In 1770,
Daniel sold his Onslow property and was granted land on the Fort Cumberland Road (Halfway River) in 1783.Daniel fought under Colonel Joseph Scott at the seige of Louisbourg, NS, in 1745. In 1759, he applied, with others, for a land grant in
NS, and was given about 26,000 acres at the head of Cobequid Basin, where they organized the Township of Onslow. These lands were later disposed of by Daniel and his wife Mary (???). In 1783, Daniel received 2,000 acres in Cumberland Co., NS, (
later known as Halfway River).

Daniel Knowlton b. 1726, Ashford, CT, m. 7 Nov 1745, Zerviah Watkins, (daughter of William Watkins). Daniel died 1791. Daniel fought under Colonel Joseph Scott at the seige of Louisbourg, NS, in 1745.
