Notes for Christian MUNRO
Christian married Colonel George Mackenzie, H.E.I.C.S, officer in Keith Murray's Highland Regiment, afterwards successively Major in 1780, and Lieutenant Colonel of the 78th or Seaforth Highlanders, second son of John Mackenzie, I of Lochend, with issue:
(1) John, Captain in the army, married Miss Fraser with issue:
(i) George, Lieutenant in 2nd Madras or Queen's Regiment died unmarried in Madras and
(ii) Poyntz a Lieutenant in the 79th Cameron Highlanders, died unmarried in North America in 1843
(2) Poyntz, Paymaster 72nd Seaforth Highlanders, died unmarried at Antigua, West Indies
(3) Alexander joined the Army as Ensign in the 39th Regiment on 09 September 1795, commissioned Lieutenant 27 February 1796. In June 1802 was exchanged to the 60th Rifles, promoted to Captain 27 April 1803(?) in the 81st Regiment. He received the war medal with four clasps.
