Notes for Deborah SMITH
Agnes wrote a letter to her daughter about her childhood. She said that her grandmother Deborah brought her up on the farm at Lake Munro, Nova Scotia, which was located about 20 miles from Annapolis Royal, NS. In those days it was known as Lake View. When her Uncle Isaiah Munro took the position of Postmaster he was given permission to change the name to Lake Munro. When she was 13 years old it was a small village. At that time she went to work 6 miles further on in Maitland for her board, room and schooling as her grandmother Deborah had died. She mentioned her Munro Uncles John, Isaiah, James and Munro cousins Alfred, Lillie, Mary, Robert, Minnie and Lawrence who ran a hotel on Lake Munro, which was his father's home. She also mentioned another cousin Adelbert Thomas who ran a hotel in Milford, NS about 15 miles from Annapolis Royal, NS.
Agnes and Aaron had two daughters.
