Deborah's parents were from Digby County, NS. The 1871 Annapolis County Census for Maitland shows Deborah as 4 years younger than Valentine. (Page 25, District 190, Polling District 14). They resided on their farm at Lake Munro which is near Maitland. The headstone for Joseph V. indicates the year of birth as 1848. It is presumed that all of the children were born in or near Annapolis or Maitland, NS as my resource material is "Calnek's History of Annapolis County, NS".

Valentine and Isaiah are both listed in "Hutchinsons Business Directory for 1866-1867 as farmers in Maitland, NS. According to the "Church" maps there were 5 Munroe families farming at Lake Munro. While prowling around the cellar holes back in the early 1970's I stepped on a board buried in the grass which gave way underneath my feet. It was part of a well cover. Needless to say I stepped cautiously after that incident. The maps, books and Valentines Death Certificate are on file in the Archives in Halifax, NS.

Valentine is written up in Janetta Dexter's "Pioneers on the Mountain" a manuscript in the Library @ PANS
